Ben Stokes, the current vice-captain of English Test Team, stole the IPL auction 2017 by setting a record price for an overseas player of Rs. 14.5 Crore when Pune Supergiants snapped him. He was found being a subject of a bidding war between five of the eight franchises this year. He is now second highest paid player in IPL 2017
2. Tymal Mills: 12 Crore
The all-rounders and fast bowlers, especially left-arm pacers, were much in demand in the Indian Premier League auction and Royal Challengers Bangalore got T20 specialist fast bowler Mills for Rs. 12 crores, 12 times his base price. English cricketer Tymal Mills is an explosive, fast bowler. He sure is going to give a very tough time to other players.
3. Sunil Narine: 8 Crore
Sunil Narine will be seen playing for Kolkatta Knight Riders who bought the player for Rs. 8 crores. The home turf has always suited the spinners, and the Knight Riders will hope that the spinners play their part again, especially their trump card Narine.
4. Shane Watson – 9.5 Crore
Former Australian all-rounder debuted in IPL 2008 with Rajasthan Royals and emerged as the Player of the Tournament in the first edition of the tournament. Last year he was bought for Rs. 9.5 crores by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
5. Kieron Pollard – 9.7 Crore
This West Indian all-rounder, after being Mumbai Indians’ star performers in IPL 2010 was actually retained by MI for Rs. 9.5 crores but gets 20 lakh extra in actual salary. Pollard brings the best out of the team and with his unmatched all-around performances he can win the match alone.
6. AB de Villiers – 9.5 Crore
Abraham Benjamin de Villiers, the current captain of South African One Day International team, will be showing his batting skills with Virat Kohli while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore who bought AB de Villiers for Rs. 9.5 crores.
7. Chris Gayle: 8.4 Crore
Jamaican cricketer Chris Gayle, who has already earned a lot of name in the IPL and who also happens to be the first player to score a century in international Twenty20 cricket, was retained for Rs. 7.5 crores by Royal Challengers Bangalore but gets 8.4 Crore as actual salary.
8. LasithMalinga – 8.1 Crore
Mumbai Indians have retained LasithMalinga for Rs. 7.5 crores. He is the most destructive fast bowler in T20 Cricket and also the highest wicket taker in the tournament.
9. Chris Morris – 7 Crore
The South African all-rounder who also scored fastest fifty of ninth season was bought by Delhi Daredevils for seven crore Rs. in IPL auctions 2016.
10. Glenn Maxwell – 6 Crore
One of the most dangerous batsmen in T20 cricket, Maxwell play Kings XI Punjab who bought him for 6 Crore Rs.
