Shivaay Movie Review By Top 10 Critics In India

Shivaay Movie Review By NDTV – 2/5

“Climb down to a more mundane plane and try judging Shivaay by the number of yawns and yelps of disbelief it induces. You will lose count pretty quick. Visually, there is much going for this film, especially with cinematographer Aseem Bajaj making the most of the striking Balkan canvas and painting breathtakingly pretty pictures on it.”

Shivaay Movie Review By Indian Express – 2/5

“Shivaay ultimately suffers from the malice of overdose. An overdose of action and an overdose of melodrama, both of which should have been chopped off at the editing table. As the director of the film, Ajay should have focused on keeping the story short and tightly edited. For instance, Sayyeshaa’s bathtub song sequence appears to be in the film to give the debutant some prominence in the otherwise Ajay Devgn show. Not to forget the underutilization of veterans like Saurabh Shukla and Girish Karnad by casting them in miniscule roles. Perhaps it would have been better had Ajay focused only on acting and deputed experts behind the camera.”

Shivaay Movie Review By Bollywood Hungama – 3.5/5

“On the whole, SHIVAAY is a perfect emotional thriller that scores high on the account of its breathtaking visuals, amazing action and a high octane performance by Ajay Devgn. At the Box-Office, the extended weekend in the form of the festival holiday will prove to be bountiful for the film. Don’t miss this one.”

Shivaay Movie Review By Raja Sen On Rediff – 1/5

“Shivaay’s kidnapped daughter, played by an adorable girl called Abigail Eames, is a mute child, which makes me believe that this film is, on some warped level, Devgn’s version of Salman Khan’s highly effective Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Except in the Devgnverse, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is replaced by Vir Das — a decision that really tells you all you need to know about this film.”

Shivaay Movie Review By Hindustan Times – 2.5/5

“Devgn’s stunts are a treat to watch, but that’s about it. Shivaay treks trough high altitudes, but the film keeps waiting for him to return to the valley with a string attached to his legs.”

Shivaay Movie Review By Firstpost

“The truth is that I enjoyed some of the hugely improbable scenarios and stunts in the film, silly though they are, including that long car chase in which Shivaay pursues a speeding vehicle on foot through busy Bulgarian roads and manages to catch up with it – I kid you not! – before being dragged for many kilometres on his knees, clad in jeans that remain unharmed by the friction. The scene is a great advertisement for whatever fabric those trousers are made of, and like I said I enjoyed that bit of nonsense as much as I have often enjoyed the nonsense served up by Hollywood action/superhero flicks.”

Shivaay Movie Review By Koimoi – 2/5

“Shivaay seems high on never ending action and loud emotion. Visuals don’t fill the void of the missing storyline and hence a 2/5 for the film.”

Shivaay Movie Review By India Today – 1.5/5

“The story of Shivaay has more meanders than the river Nile. It starts off in the Himalayas, reaches half the world away in Bulgaria. While the location shifts only a few thousand miles, events in the story are light years away from any sense or logic. Watch Shivaay if you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE TO DO. Else watch a documentary on mountaineering. Or child trafficking. Or Bulgaria. Or whatever you want to. (Just a special mention for the company which made the tent that weathered pretty much everything.)”

Shivaay Movie Review By Bollywood Life – 3/5

“had Ajay decided to just act and blow us away with his action and emotional moments , Shivaay would be a different experience. The lengthy scenes and the second half that endlessly drags its feet are a true test of your patience. Shivaay could have easily been a shorter film with a more gripping narrative had the editing been a bit more stricter.Shivaay has spectacular action scenes, perhaps the best we have seen this year. Watch it for that and the emotional storyline of a father-daughter relationship.”
